Rettig Group acquires a family business in Turkey
Rettig Group has established Rettig Metal Ticaret ve Sanayi AS, a company formed for the express purpose of acquiring the businesses of Seri Is Makina and Seri Is Metal from the Binoĝlu family. Both companies are located in Izmir in Turkey.
The Seri Is companies have been involved in the manufacture of specialist metal tubes for a number of years and more recently have become a major manufacturer of chrome-plated steel towel warmers and, as such, a major supplier to Rettig ICC in the UK, French, Belgian and other European markets.
The annual turnover of the Seri Is companies amounts to EUR 6 million and the number of employees totals 190. Gökhan Binoĝlu, who along with his father has developed the Seri Is business to its present size, will be employed by Rettig and hold the position of Plant Manager.
The business will become an important element in Rettig ICC's efforts to establish a greater presence in the fast-growing European towel warmer market.
